As women our lives tend to become full and often hurried. We find ourselves overwhelmed, stressed and wondering how we got here yet again!

Come and join us on Saturday June 1st for our 5th annual Women's Day: Still. We will be exploring how an overly busy and stressfull life affects our physical, emotional and spiritual well being, as well as looking at how we can slow down in each of these areas to enjoy the life that God intended for us.

We have three wonderful speakers with excellent insight and life experience to lead us on this journey of finding ways to be STILL in the hustle and bustle of life.

The day starts at 10am. There will be three sessions throughout the day; we will enjoy a tasty lunch provided by Tastefully Yours by Jeff. The day will end in a time of worship and we will finish by 3pm.

Space is limited so be sure to register early!

Laurie Shopland

As a woman who has benefited greatly from life coaching when life was turned upside down for her and her family, Laurie was driven to do the same for other women.

Passionate to help women overcome the similar feelings of uncertainty and overwhelm when life got messy, she completed her certification as a Life and Weight coach through the The Life Coach School.

Laurie helps her clients identify thoughts that are holding them back and teaches them how to overcome these roadblocks so they can live life to the fullest!

Laurie is a mother of three fiercely lovable young adults (and two NEW in- laws!) and is still passionately in love with her husband (and business partner) of 25+ years!

Janelle Petrescue

Janelle is a Registered Massage Therapist and has been practicing since 2008.

Janelle’s interest in the body began during her Human Kinetics undergrad at Trinity Western University. She went on to study Therapeutic Massage as a means to put her knowledge to practical use.

Janelle is continually amazed and intrigued with the human body, more specifically how we heal, and how we function in the presence of various stressors. Through her own experiences, as well as within her practice, she continues to see first hand how emotional, mental, and spiritual stressors manifest symptoms throughout our physical bodies.

The human body is an incredible masterpiece and communicates with us if we would take the time to listen. She enjoys coming along side others to educate, encourage, and empower them in their personal health journey.

LaVerne Tisher

LaVerne has worn many hats over ther the years. Professionally, she’s a Secondary School teacher and Technical College instructor of chemistry, science, and math.

Forty five years ago, she married a missionary Bible translator and helped in all aspects of that work (except the actual language learning!). Think book-keeping, producing literacy materials, in and out of African government offices in a business agent role, choir directing, piano teaching, hostessing countless visitors to the Mission.

She had three babies in 17 months (twins have a multiplying effect!). It has been an ongoing and sometimes painful journey to learn to rest in the Lord during years of hectic, busy schedules.  LaVerne is keen to share with others, the ways the Lord has led and is still leading her “beside still waters”.

Kaily Bennett

Kaily is a school teacher by trade, but is currently on maternity leave, taking care of her two wee babes at home.  Originally from Victoria, Kaily traveled for a number of years, living abroad and teaching school. She has been living in Langley for the past ten years, and came to Living Waters Church three years ago after waiting a very long time to finally meet her husband, Michael Bennett, who just happened to be the boy next door.

Kaily has been serving on the worship team at Living Waters Church for a few years, and is passionate about making spaces to express gratitude and love to God, in worship.
